Twin Screw Pump Principle Operation

Twin Screw Pump consists a set of shafts - one driving and the other one is driven with two screws that are mounted & keyed onto each shaft. Liquid entering the pump separated into 2 parts, each part goes to the outer end of screws. When the screws start rotating, cavities form between the individual screw. And, these hold particular volume of fluid. The amount of fluid that entered the pump and was channeled to the left, then moves to the center from left. On the other hand, the liquid potion that was diverted to the right also moves from right to center. At the center point, these two flow paths rejoin & exit the pump through discharge flange. By means of timing gears, the drive to driven screw is transmitted. The Twin Screw Pumps are ideal for dry running applications.
